An aluminum oxide hydroxide mineral (AlO(OH)), typically found in bauxite deposits. In refractory applications, diaspore is valued for its high alumina content, thermal stability, and resistance to chemical attack, making it suitable for producing high-performance firebricks and other heat-resistant materials.
